Find a dimensioned drawing
Check relevant overall and internal measurements, not just the size in the product title. Wardrobes need opening and compartment dimensions; sofas need arms, back and extended-position measurements. Establish what the photograph includes and what is sold separately. A styled room may show another version or accessories outside the order. Ask about a decisive missing measurement and keep the response. Do not infer scale by comparing furniture with a plant or lamp of unknown size. The useful evidence is a measurement attached to the exact model selected.
Clarify materials and finishes
Read the full description to distinguish solid timber, veneer, board and coatings. Check which parts use which material. A colour name does not guarantee a match with existing furniture; request samples where available and treat photographs as guidance. Find care and assembly instructions before purchase. An item may be suitable if its requirements are acceptable, but those requirements should be known before arrival. Words such as durable or premium are not enough to explain construction and use or to compare two superficially similar listings.
Examine the actual delivery service
Check stated timing for your address, package count, dimensions and weights. Ask whether delivery ends at the entrance or includes carrying upstairs, unpacking and assembly. Measure the route and arrange help where appropriate. Before payment, read the process for missing parts, damage or failed access. Keep the listing and order record. On arrival, inspect packaging and contents following the seller's procedure and document problems without prematurely discarding materials needed to resolve them. A delivery plan should include handling the packages, not only being home to receive them.
Read the conditions applying to you
Check returns, collection costs, required condition and any particular rules for customised goods in the seller's current terms for your location. Do not assume another retailer's policy applies or that assembly and use leave the process unchanged. Ask for written clarification before purchase where wording is ambiguous. Compare the final cost, including transport and assembly, with equivalent alternatives. A considered decision depends on resolving these questions rather than reacting to a promotional countdown. The attractive image is only one part of what is being bought.
